Let's Go To The Cincinnati Zoo!

Join the APICS Cincinnati Chapter and ISM at our meeting on Tuesday, May 16th, at The Cincinnati Zoo.  Meeting registration is open to all Supply Chain organizations.  We're going to learn about Supply Chain activities as they relate to the transportation of zoo animals.  Ron Evans, Curator of Primates at The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, will highlight the following:

  • Laws ensuring the good management of endangered species
  • Preparation zoos make when the need arises to relocate an Ape from one accredited zoo to another
  • Special steps taken when relocating an Ape by air
  • Introduction of Apes to their new home, keepers and conspecifics
  • World conservation need for Great Apes
  • Role the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited zoos fulfill in this conservation need through focused collaboration

As an extra treat, there will be a Cheetah Visit to the meeting.  The animal will be so close you can hear it purr!  It will be 30 minutes of interaction with a staff member who takes care of them.

Register early... we expect this to sell out!
